What dream are you currently turning into reality?
My dream is to create a space for foster kids to thrive and be creative. I want there to be sports teams, dance classes, and media classes. It would also provide a program for kids who “age out” to have an option of getting a career started.
When did you first realize you discovered your dream?
It really just unfolded for me as I grew up. I’ve always been creative in different ways, and I go through seasons for how I express it. In the end, it’s always about making God famous through creative content.
How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?
My faith is a part of everything I do. I grew up in a very bad environment, so my faith in God has always been a pillar in my life. It helps me get through struggling seasons where I’m doubting myself or have a creative block. God reminds me to have faith in the little seasons.
What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?
The first thing is setting goals - Short term and long term. I create goals to help keep my eyes focused on the season I’m in. The second thing is trusting my creative ability and my inner circle. I listen to the advice of those who have my best interest in mind.
What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?
Let your dreams unfold. Sometimes what you think you want is just the beginning of what you’re called to do. So, keep doing what you love and follow what God puts in your heart - He’ll lead you to the right place.
