John Castillo
We’re stoked to welcome our friend and fashion photographer, John Castillo, to the Dreamos Round Table. John was born and raised in New York City, and has been building his career in the entertainment industry for over 13 years.
To John, “What started as a curious hobby turned into a rewarding career." His work goes beyond the camera and into strategic partnerships with his clients, acting as an extension of their creative department and business. Specializing in integrated imagery brand campaigns for consumer and business-to-business companies, John offers a broad range of creative services.
With years of polishing his craft and establishing a high level reputation, John’s had the opportunity to work influential brands like Ralph Lauren, IMG digital, WME entertainment, Helmut Lang, Oribe, United Nations, Label M, Charity Water, and Def Jam Recordings.
Through his incredible work ethic and trust in God, John continues taking bigger strides as he believes for even greater things. We know you’ll be encouraged and inspired as you hear more from his heart, story, and pursuit.
What dream are you currently turning into reality?
Art Directing - I love photography, branding, typography & filmmaking. I love to create.
When did you first realize you discovered your dream?
When I discovered who I am in God. It filled me with purpose and hope towards every single area of my life.
How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?
I’ve learned to be thankful in everything and faithful in the little things.
What are some practical things you do to keep moving forward?
Ask God where to start, commit to your dreams, and persevere at all times. Psalms 37:5 says, “Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him and He will do it.” I’d also say to dream bigger and brighter, while taking joy in where you are right now.
What encouragement would you give someone who’s going after their dream?
When we begin to pursue our dreams in alignment with God’s leading, there will be times where perseverance will be a necessity to take us from one day into the next. A persevering faith is REQUIRED; A belief in the living God who sees your whole heart and truly wants to use you in His master plan. It can be tough to be plagued with a million hopes for the future, but no clear path to start to fulfill them - But that’s just it! God meets us in the unknown and in the unexpected.
