Rylan Rash
Rylan’s a songwriter, producer, music artist, and worship leader getting after his dreams from San Antonio, TX.
Whether it’s writing in the studio, playing a set at a club, or leading his church in worship, Rylan's heart for people guides his every step. To Rylan, creativity’s never been about what’s being made, but for how what’s being created is connecting with others.
After releasing a handful of singles and a full length record, Rylan’s been expanding his reach in a big way. While he began in the singer/songwriter space, Rylan’s been redefining his sound to connect with his listeners in a new way.
No matter what the future holds, Rylan’s gonna be leaning into faith the whole way there. To him, it’s really the only way to live.
What dream are you currently turning into reality?
My goal is to make music that can relate to our current generation. We are all on a journey of trying to figure things out. I just hope my craft can be a small part of someone else's journey.
When did you first realize you discovered your dream?
I have always loved music, but when I realized that music is more than just something to listen to, the whole game changed for me.
Most of us can agree melodies and songs can be felt in such a spiritual way. It changes our thoughts, moods, and actions. I just hope to bring some positivity through my art.
How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?
My first priority in anything I do is to make God known and seen. That includes the music I write, along with how I live my life. I think every creative can be so set on a goal and neglect what God has for them instead.
The reality is, no matter what I think success in music looks like, I know God’s way is gonna be better. So, if that looks like me leading worship as my full-time job for the rest of my life, I’m completely okay with that.
What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?
First, I’m writing consistently and creating new things, even if it goes slow and can be frustrating.
Second, I’m working hard to make connections and ask questions to people who have already succeeded. Don't let pride stop you from moving forward.
What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?
In life we all fail and fall short but don’t let the fear of failing stop you from living your dream.
