What dream are you currently turning into reality?

My dream is to be an actor and filmmaker.

When did you first realize you discovered your dream?

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a performer - It’s something I believe I was born with. My first words were even lines from a movie. I was always putting on plays and creating characters. There was never any question about what I wanted to be when I grew up..I wanted to be an actor!

How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?

I believe that God put this desire in me to begin with - That He created me with a thirst for the arts and the talent I have is God-given. Pursuing my dream is not only what I want - It’s the very thing God created me for, and it glorifies Him to watch me pursue that dream.

What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?

I spend a lot of time collecting my thoughts and meditating in nature. I find so much solace and power in God’s creation. I find that, just like in the natural world, we can grow, change, and adapt to whatever comes next. If the trees can bloom and transform from season to season, so can we.

What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?

You can’t let the fear of failing stop you! We are going to fail. We are going to be discouraged. We are going to hit walls and road blocks. There will be parts and jobs we don’t get, people who won’t like us. It’s inevitable. That’s life. But just remember, every failure can add to our life experiences. They can teach us, mold us, and make us better artists, parents, friends, teachers..better people.
