What dream are you currently turning into reality?

I’ve always had the dream of pursuing a music career with my two brothers, which I’m currently living out.

When did you first realize you discovered your dream?

From a young age, my parents exposed me to a variety of musical genres. I was super intrigued and would always sing around the house. Stevie Wonder in particular was instrumental in sparking my passion for singing. I was around 8 years old when I started attending a local music school and taking drum lessons. Nothing brought as much joy to my life as music did. So, from a relatively young age, I knew it was my dream to be doing music for the rest of my life.

How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?

Spreading positivity and shedding light in times like this, is something I feel compelled to do. Jesus was able to bring light to dark situations, and I feel like my music has the ability to bring people joy through hard times.

What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?

There are definitely times it can feel hard, or like there is a glass ceiling to break through when pursuing music. I’m blessed to have both my brothers alongside me as we chase our dreams together.

Staying grounded in my faith has played a huge role in my success as has setting specific goals and not overlooking the mini victories. A song has zero streams before we release it obviously, so any amount of streams when we drop music should feel like a win.

There are no strict guidelines or a rule book for entrepreneurs in general, so not comparing my journey as an artist to others has helped me stay grounded.

What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?

It’s not that you won’t have fear pursuing your dreams, it’s just that you don’t have to let it hold you back. You don’t have to let it deter you from being everything you’ve dreamed up. The road to success has both hills and valleys. Just because one day doesn't feel rewarding doesn’t mean the next one won’t be plentiful with blessings.
