Jordan George
We’re stoked to have our friend Jordan George with us for this week’s Dreamos Round Table! Jordan’s a singer, songwriter, and creative entrepreneur pursuing His dreams from Nashville, TN.
Whether through his music with The George Twins, or his lighting project, Amp Lamps, Jordan’s passion is creating space for others to feel seen and loved.
He’s currently working on a new EP with his brother Tyler, and plans to get Amp Lamps into stores this year. We know you’ll be encouraged and inspired as you hear more from his heart, story, and pursuit.
What dream are you currently turning into reality?
A band and a brand. “The George Twins” is my audio journal with my brother, and my musical outlet. We get to shape songs together that help others through good times and bad times. It's an honor to be able to do that.
“Amp Lamps” is an idea I’ve had since high school, where I take guitar amps and turn them into lamps. It’s my first venture into the product space, and I LOVE IT. I put my heart and soul into each one I create. I get so stoked creating products that quite literally light up the room!
When did you first realize you discovered your dream?
For music, it was the moment I heard John Mayer’s Live Album at the Nokia Theatre. He had this power through lyric, melody, and guitar to create a safe place for the emotionally homeless parts of me to feel included and seen. I wanted to learn that power, so I started writing and singing songs.
I’ve also always been fascinated by light. “Amp Lamps” is the collaboration of my fascination with both music and light.
How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?
Anything that moves us at a soul level, I believe, is transcendent - It is of Christ. When I tap into that energy, I see God start to move through me and through others.
Music and Art are some of the only forces strong enough to break through our insecurities, our walls, and deliver us what I call, “ The Great Reminder”. It reminds us that we’re already loved, we’re included, and everything we need is available to us - If we only connect to the Source.
What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?
Call people who love you — When I’m stuck in my head, being reminded of who I am is always grounding for me. It takes me out of my head, and into the present.
Start the day present — I’ll admit, I'm not the best at this, but when I take time to pray and anchor myself in the present moment in the morning, my day has better momentum.
What encouragement would you give someone who’s going after their dream?
Build a team - Success is worth nothing if you can't share it with someone else.
