Ivory Lane

Ivory’s a music artist, songwriters, and producer getting after her dreams from Nashville, TN.

Never been one to wait on a sign to get going, Ivory moves on her faith, putting plans into action.

Ivory spent the better part of 2021 working out of the UK, snagging multiple plays on the widely popular BBC Radio 2. She’s also collaborated with artists like Needtobreathe, Andrew McMahon in The Wilderness, and Tom Grennan.

No matter where faith takes her, or where her dream leads to next, you will always find Ivory writing honest songs that truly inspire and connect.

What dream are you currently turning into reality?

I’m a pop artist, songwriter, and producer who’s also chasing the dream of making my bed every day, but haven’t currently turned that one into a reality.

When did you first realize you discovered your dream?

When I was fourteen, I played one of my songs on stage for the first time in front of family and friends at my local church.

In that moment, I realized performing and writing music didn’t have to be limited to venting my feelings, but could also spark a deep, divine experience of letting others in.

That connection with the audience that day gave me a strong enough sense of purpose to begin pursuing music from then on.

How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?

Someone once told me, “The only person who will care the most about your career is you.” You can’t lean on anyone else to chase your dream.

Over the last few years I’ve come to realize that I have to own my spiritual journey just as much as my professional one. Growing up in a Christian home, attending a Christian school, moving to another Bible Belt city at nineteen, it was frighteningly easy to outsource my faith.

But, if the Gospel is truly about relationships, nobody else can walk that walk for me except me. But, thankfully I don’t have to walk it alone.

What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?

I push myself to write something every day, even if it’s putting down a sketch of an idea in my notes app.

I also just try to have fun and not hold anything too precious, because making music should be fun!

(On a completely unrelated note, in the event of something happening to me, please delete my notes app. Thank you.)

What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?

There has always been a place for you - That hasn’t changed. So, keep going. We need your stories the way you tell them!
