We’re stoked to have our good friend Bradley Dunn with us for this week’s Dreamos Round Table! Bradley’s a cinematographer and filmmaker pursuing his dreams from San Diego, CA.

Bradley's passion and focus is visual storytelling - Being a megaphone for local and global artists and brands through filmmaking. With faith, resilience, and determination, Bradley has taken every opportunity to make the most of every open door. His mindset and work ethic paved the way for working with brands like Wendy's, ESPN, Mazda, Volkswagen, Acura, and Paul Mitchell.

With Bradley, it’s never been about the “project.” It’s about the people, about their stories, and bringing each one to life. We know you’ll be encouraged and inspired as you hear more from his heart, story, and pursuit.

What dream are you currently turning into reality?

I’ve been doing film for about 10 years now, and it’s the thing I know best. It’s really been a dream come true, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. But, up to this point I’ve done a little bit of everything and have said yes to pretty much all of the opportunities that have come my way. It’s been a complete blessing, but I’m at a place where instead of being good at a lot of things, I’m working towards being a master at one thing.

When did you first realize you discovered your dream?

I’ve had a camera in my hands since I was 12, back when I was borrowing my Mom’s VHS camera making skateboarding videos. But, lately I’ve been looking at some of the most successful people in my industry, and they usually have one thing in common - They’ve found their God-given gifts that are SPECIFIC to them, and they’ve learned to give them away. Over this past year, I’ve been trying to dial in and find out what my “special sauce” is, apply it to what I do, and give it away.

How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?

God has been with me every step of the way. Most of my biggest jobs and opportunities have come to me in ways that are so random and crazy that there’s no other way to explain it other than God just dropped a huge gift in my lap. He’s encouraged me in the valley’s and has humbled me on top of the mountain. I think God gave you gifts to help spread his love and His Word, first and foremost - I try to always remember that.

What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?

Daily to-do lists. A while back my girlfriend made me start doing these and I can’t tell you how much they’ve helped. A very detailed, prioritized to-do list can help you move mountains. It’s the small stuff. The other thing is to build relationships and help other people as much as you can. Go out tomorrow and find a way to give away your gift and help one person. You’d be surprised how often that comes full circle.

What encouragement would you give someone who’s going after their dream?

Find a community. Just how people get casted for a role in a movie, you need to cast your own life. Cast the people who you want to surround yourself with. Get around people who love you and want to help you get you to where you want to go.
