Allee-Sutton Hethcoat
We’re so excited to welcome our good friend Allee-Sutton to this week’s Dreamos Round Table! Allee-Sutton’s an actor, model, Youtuber, former Miss Tennessee USA, and attorney building her dreams from Nashville, TN.
From an early age, Allee-Sutton dreamed of becoming an actor and model. With her mind made up and vision locked in, she was determined to do the hard work of developing her gifts and abilities to reach all she set out to achieve. As she followed her faith, persevering through resistance and setback, Allee-Sutton broke through. Now, as an accomplished model, actor, former Miss Tennessee USA, and attorney, she has proven just how far you can go when you put in the hard work to get there - Trusting God each step of the way.
It’s always been Allee-Sutton’s passion to use her platform to make a difference in the lives of those around her, and she’s doing just that. Whether on set or offstage, she uses her experiences to inspire and empower others to know that if she can do it, they can do the same. We know you’ll be encouraged and inspired as you hear more from her heart, story, and pursuit.
What dream are you currently turning into reality?
Working full time in film and television on projects that will inspire and uplift others! I recently had the opportunity to work on a new film project and it really helped put me back in touch with my passion for acting. I love print and will always want to be shooting, but my dream is to also be consistently acting.
When did you first realize you discovered your dream?
I’ve always wanted to be an actor and model. My mother was a model and we (my siblings and I) loved going to work with her and ended up signing with her agency as kids. In my elementary school yearbook under my photo we had to include what we wanted to be when we were older - I always said an actor. I can’t think of a time when this wasn’t my biggest dream. I feel so blessed every single day that I get to do what I love.
How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?
I can’t imagine living life without my faith, much less trying to pursue this dream. Having God as my rock not only makes all things possible, but also gives this dream and its pursuit meaning and significance. Without my faith I know I would have given up a long time ago.
What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?
I am always striving for forward momentum. I found waiting for my agent to call and present an opportunity made me feel anxious and I spent a lot of time trying to think about things I could do to help generate more opportunity for myself. After meditating on that, I decided every single day to do these two things:
Pray over my goals, my heart, my journey and my purpose. This gives me so much clarity on what I am trying to accomplish and why, and all the things I have to be grateful for.
Create. I never let a day go by without taking time to be creative. I love investing time into sharpening my creative skills and often have found that the things I do on my own and share help me to generate opportunities I never could have imagined.
What encouragement would you give someone who’s going after their dream?
It can be overwhelming to have big dreams and not know how you are ever going to get there, but just know that the greatness of achieving your dreams is really just stacking one small action on top of another - And every single one of us is capable of doing that! You have to find peace, purpose and joy in the grind, because most days in our industry, the grind is all there is - The hard work that isn’t sexy or flashy or exciting. We were called to be strong and to take risks. Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” I also always remember this quote: “To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.” Keep strong in your faith, and do more than trust the process - Revel in it.
