What dream are you currently turning into reality?
Currently, I have been incredibly grateful to be doing a lot of work as a DP/Cam Op on some exciting commercial shoots I never dreamed I would get to work on. Being able to do this full time has been incredible and very fulfilling.
When did you first realize you discovered your dream?
When I was in high school, I had a photography teacher who saw potential in me and became my mentor. He would take me aside from the rest of the class and teach me lighting and composition one-on-one. From there, I started applying that knowledge to the videos I made for fun and realized that video production was what I wanted to pursue.
How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?
I think just having guidance and knowing that my future is in His hands is really essential to being a faith-based filmmaker. Working with other faith-based filmmakers is always an incredible experience as well.
What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?
I love to have goals that seem way out of the ballpark of what I'm currently doing. I always surprise myself with what I am actually capable of when I start taking small steps towards those big goals.
What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?
No matter what it looks like, trust the process. I know it's a common phrase, but in this industry, it's so common to go through periods of stress due to not having work lined up or having a project fall through. Every time I’ve been stressing about not having work, I suddenly get an influx of it and can't keep up. As long as you're working on yourself and your brand, you will succeed.
