What dream are you currently turning into reality?
Becoming a company owner that has created a video production company geared towards vfx and action. Some day soon to become the next movie studio.
When did you first realize you discovered your dream?
I’ve always wanted to be a director and company CEO of a film company since I was little. However, it wasn’t until the past three years that it has really started to surface as a possibility.
How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?
For a long time I was pursuing film for my own selfish desires. Though my heart was in the right place, my motive was not. It hasn’t been until recently that I have been realigning that vision to be geared towards God's Kingdom. Once I started to do that, my writing, my job, and my career relationships started to have a lot more clarity as well as giving it a stronger purpose.
What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?
Constant prayer.
Major vs minor goal tracking.
Identify what will move the needle forward the furthest each day.
What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?
Ask yourself what success is for you because it’s different for each person. Then, remember that success is a marathon - It’s not a sprint.
And, know that mistakes and failure will come, but it’s not the one who gets knocked down the most but rather those who can keep getting back up and learn from their mistakes.
Most importantly, remember at the end of all things, it’s about God's Kingdom, not our own. So, take some pressure off yourself and give Him your dreams and aspirations. He knows what you need.
