Ezra and Beecher Prōch
Ezra and Beecher are the brothers, songwriters, and frontmen of “Willow City”, and they’ve been getting after their dreams from Fredericksburg, TX.
Ezra and Beecher grew up in a world of creativity, surrounded by art, music, and whimsy. Today, they’re bringing their mad-hatter methodology and love for life to the world. The brothers view themselves as “the band next door”, bringing people together to celebrate and sing about the emotions and experiences we all have.
Their first single, “Under My Nose” with Dare Records and Warner Brothers Music just came out last week. And, killer news - They’ve got more music coming!
What dream are you currently turning into reality?
Well, one reality we never imagined was that we’d be working together as brothers! But, when we were in high school, we started a band with some buddies thinking it would be a fun hobby. Since then, the Lord has opened crazy doors. Now, fast forward to 2022 - We get to do it for a living!
When did you first realize you discovered your dream?
Several years ago Ezra was in a film with Robert Duvall and Lucas Black. This was our introduction to the entertainment industry. We were both immediately hooked by the magnetic power that creative storytelling had on us, and the ability it has to influence and change lives. Soon after, we got into music and quickly realized it was the medium we wanted to pursue.
How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?
The gift of creativity to us means simply walking in the footsteps of the Ultimate Creator. God is a God of creativity. It’s nothing short of a privilege to emulate what He did in creation and continues to do in our hearts and the world around us.
What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?
We make time commitments and stick to them. In seasons of writing, we show up in the studio at 9AM and don’t leave until the work is done. Different seasons call for different strategies, but discipline and consistency is the key. You’ve gotta show up, eliminate distractions, and do the work. If you haven’t read “The War Of Art” by Stephen Pressfield, read it today!
What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?
Surround yourself with good people. Nothing compares to the encouragement that comes from a like-minded community pursuing a common goal.
